The Earth Rising Festival, Museum of Modern Art Ireland IMMA

EARTH RISING is IMMA’s flagship festival focused on the Earth crisis. Celebrating art and culture as catalysts for environmental change and collective action, this festival includes free exhibitions, workshops, talks, performances, screenings and more. Join us to explore innovative solutions and contribute to a thriving, sustainable future for Ireland.

I presented my photo series “Changing Landscapes” at the festival. Screening is the most sustainable way to show images at the festival.

Blue-Green Biodiversity exhibition

Vernissage on October 18th, 12:30.

October 18th to November 5th 2024.
The exhibition is open Monday to Friday, 8:00-17:00.

Forum Chriesbach Atrium, Eawag
Ueberlandstrasse 133
8600 Dübendorf

Welcome to the photo exhibition by Anna Korbut, an art-science collaboration in the frame of the BGB research initiative by Eawag and WSL. Vernissage at Eawag Dübendorf, Forum Chriesbach hall, 18th October, 12:30.

This exhibition illustrates how aquatic and terrestrial habitats intertwine and influence each other. Observe how leaf decomposition, insects, and species like mayflies, stoneflies, and snails interconnect land and water, forming a network of life sustained by flows of creatures, energy and nutrients.

Each photograph, taken in the cantons of Aargau, Lucerne, and Graubünden, offers a glimpse into this rich ecological diversity. The collaborative project between the Blue-Green Biodiversity Research Initiative and photographer Anna Korbut explores the connections between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems through an artistic perspective.

The exhibitions will next take place at WSL in Birmensdorf from November 6th, and at Eawag in Kastanienbaum from November 28th to December 20th.

The book “Behind the Glass” won Bronze at the Prix de la Photographie, Paris

The book “Behind the Glass” won Bronze at the Prix de la Photographie, Paris.

The photo series “Behind the Glass” is a series of colourful one-shot non-manipulated images illustrating ecological problems through art. All the photos are for sale in limited editions.

Trees behind the glass are willing to escape, but the outside world conditions are unsuitable for their lives. The leaves of the plants touching the misted glass resemble the fingers of people willing to leave this artificial environment which is at the same time their home and the key to their life. The species that grow in greenhouses usually cannot survive in the climate where the greenhouse stands. Observing orangeries, I hope most of the Earth’s plants survive facing climate changes and global warming. People should change their attitude toward nature because ruining the ecosystem is much easier than reviving it. We would not be able to build a greenhouse for a whole planet.

The photo series is an artistic project made while writing my diploma, “Anthropocene Issues in Society and Contemporary Photography”. Observing orangeries, I hope most of the Earth’s plants survive facing climate changes and global warming. People should change their attitude toward nature because ruining the ecosystem is much easier than reviving it. I took photos in Ukraine, Poland, and Hungary.

Photographers and filmmakers from around the globe entered their work in the international open call and exhibition for images that tell compelling stories about the planet. “Never has there been a more important time where we need new ways to understand the beautiful world we inhabit,” Skinder Hundal, global director of arts at the British Council, said.

23-26 February 2024

During the international literature festival “On disappearing and Re-Emerging” at Literaturhaus Zürich I was presenting the photo series “Changing Landscapes”.

It was the second year of the war in Ukraine on this date, at the same time with my exhibition Ukrainian authors Tanja Maljartschuk and Jurko Prochasko discussed “Disappearing literature in times of the war”. It was full of people.
